TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR PROFESSIONAL SINGERS AND NATIONAL INSTRUMENT PERFORMERS NAMED AFTER CHINGIS KHAN HIGHEST STATE AWARD HOLDER, HERO OF THE LABOR, MERITED ART CREATOR, COMPOSER BYAMBASURENGIIN SHARAV
According to the 143rd Government approval from April 10, 2019, the International competition for professional singers and national instrument performers named after B.Sharav will take place every 4 years. The competition aims to support classical and national music artists, to entertain at the international level, and to give singers and musicians a chance to participate in international competitions.
The competition will take place from the 7th to the 13th of November 2023 in the capital city of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar.
The purpose of the competition
The purpose of the competition is to develop the professional skills and talents of young artists within the framework of the state cultural policy implemented by the government, to exchange experiences, to enrich their repertoire with the best compositions of Mongolian composers, to spread the classical works of Mongolian composers, the opera “Chinggis Khan” by B.Sharav and other large scale works for singers and national instrument performers.

1. General information
1.1. The competition schedule
Contestants will be registered with the Contest Organizing Committee until November 1, 2023. Entries will not be accepted if the deadline is late.

1.2. Competition instrument nominations
Competition for national music performers will be organized for instruments: Morin Khuur, Khuuchir, Yochin, Shudarga, Yatga and Limbe, Ever buree, Ikh huur, Bishguur.
The Competition for professional singers will be organized for Soprano, Mezzosoprano, Tenor, Baritone and Bass
1.3. Age Limit
The competition is open for all professional singers under the age of 35 (born after November 1, 1988) and musicians under the age of 35 (born after November 1, 1988) from any country who meet the requirements of the competition terms and conditions.

2. Rules of the competition
2.1. Judging
2.1.1. Judges will evaluate the competitors by secret ballot.
2.1.2. In case of any dispute during the competition the judges will make a decision. The judge’s decision is final in all rounds of the competition
2.1.3. Judges will perform their work according to the competition rule
2.2. Rules for listening and evaluating the materials
2.2.1. The competitors should post their materials in the “Competitors” section of the www.sharav.org site
2.2.2. The competitors are responsible for their accompanist in rounds I and II. If any foreign competitor requires an accompanist, the organizing committee will provide an accompanist. The payment for the accompanist will be the responsibility of the competitor.
2.2.3. The performance duration in the I round should be at most 35 minutes for musicians and 20 minutes for singers. The performance duration in the II round should be at most 35 minutes for musicians and 25 minutes for singers. The performance in the III round should be at most 40 minutes for musicians and 20 minutes for singers.
2.2.4. The results of the III round will be announced on the website of the competition. www.sharav.org
2.2.5. The order of the participants in the competition will be regulated by lottery and will be followed until the end of the competition.
2.2.6. Contestants will pay a registration fee of 150,000 MNT for domestic participants and $100 for foreign participants.

2.3. Practicing during the competition
The competition will provide foreign participants with practicing facilities.
2.4. Arrival and stay of the competitors
2.4.1. Foreign and Mongolian competitors will be responsible for their accommodation, food, and travel expenses.
2.4.2. The competitors will be responsible for caring for their musical instruments through Mongolian and international customs.
3. Awards
3.1.1. The winners of the last round will be awarded as follows:
3.1.2 The award of Best accompanist can be given from the organizing committee.
3.1.3. The organizing committee can organize a concert of competition winners.

4.1. Additional rules
4.1.1 The music scores of composer B.Sharav can be obtained from the website wwww.sharav.org
4.1.2 The organizing committee has the right to finalize the issues that may arise during the competition.
4.1. 3. If the competitor violates the competition rule, the organizing committee has the right to exclude the competitor from the competition.
4.1.4. The competitor has no right to give any public information or interview if not planned by the organizing committee.
4.1.5. The winners of the competition are obliged to participate in the gala concert of the competition.
4.1.6. The organizing committee of the competition has the right to use all the video materials, to send, to produce audio and video recording without any permission from the competitors, judges, accompanists.
4.1.7. The official language of the competition is Mongolian.
4.1.8. All the repertoire should be played by memory.
4.1.9. The duration of the performance should not be more than given time.
4.1.10. Only published music works must be performed.
4.1.11. Registration fee and other materials will not be refunded to the competitors.
4.1.12. III Round the winners will perform the concerto in its original version with a symphony orchestra.
4.1.13. The competitor has no right to improvise.
